Village Hotels - Any Experience?

As per the title. Friend is cross-shopping them and I had never heard of them before ( probably due to the fact im in New Zealand ). Always interested in adding to my useless knowledge vault.

Stayed in one was ok. Half posh chain hotel.

Can get good deals.

Village are generally pretty nice. Not on the mega cheap end of the scale at all.
