How about coming a bit further south west?

or is that a little selfish?

Fine by me, lets see where any consensus takes us as we get more response.

Aye, we'll wait and see..

It's just I'm down in Evesham (right on the edge of what can be called the midlands!) and it's a bit of a trek to the Peak District (especially when my pistonmotor is the Sei!) so somewhere slightly more south westish would be nice..

But like I say, if that's a bit selfish (I wouldn't expect everyone to drive down to worcester!) then the peaks will be cool, I guess I'll tag onto the bristol bunch et al..

My, this popped up quickly !

How about Warwick direction ?

Dates wise, end of July / start of August is bad for me coz I'll be on me holliberries.

As PistonFest is July, why not sometime in August ? (though I guess a lot of people will pipe up with holiday issues, it being the season and all)

Great, some more enthusiasm! The question of where is determined mainly by who will be bothered to arrange it.

One issue of the length, speed, type of run is that on any given weekend the later in the day the more evidence of numpties, walkers, cyclists, plod, scameras etc.

If it's just a meet and natter then the drive there is the thing for individuals, small groups etc. If this is what's wanted what about some car related meeting point For example a car museum, race meeting, sprint meeting etc.

If it's a run then someone needs to plan it and ensure that everyone who wants to attend is able to complete it without getting lost

Over to you!

Avoncroft Buildings museum A38 Nr J1 M42 or just north of J5 M5 has large car park and a resturant. but you have to pay to get in,so that might be a problem.

Now that sounds like a plan

Afternoon all, being a Midlander I'd be up for a hoon in the T16.

Some of the roads up this way are great too, being selfish I would want to go with this option, because its on my doorstep too. But if there are some great (quiet) roads further south west, then fine.

I think that what is now being suggested (both time and venue) sounds very much like Dawn Raid II. As this already has a great route planned it may be a case of joining in.

However the main lesson to learn from DRI was that by 10.00am many of the Peak roads are not suitable for brisk passage due to plod, scameras, numpties, walkers, cyclists et al.

Time for Super Nonny to emerge from the Bat Cave and take charge

Motor Museum at Gaydon is a good meeting place.
You dont pay to go in, the cafe's good and there is a big car park. The shop is full of car stuff as well. If you want to go round the museum then allow extra time. There is some good scenery and some amazing roads - although can be busy.
