My TVR was running well last year and then started to have iregular tickover, it start very easy then when hot backfires and runs very rich, I have replaced Plugs, Distributor cap, plug leads,
6 new injectors . also tried another ecu unit. l need help l don't know what to try next.
Any one in South lanarkshire willing to have look would be great.I am sure someone must know how to sort this.

No experience of these but it sounds more like an air leak somewhere, have you checked all the hoses and intake piping?

It sounds like the temperature sensor is broken, so the ecu thinks the car is cold and keeps fuelling (like the choke in the old days).

gerry ,one repetitive problem i had was a faulty throttle position sensor ,caused some very weird problems .another thnig that can happen if its got cats is the cats break up and blocks the y joint in the exhaust .it went from 122 bhp to 152 on the dyno after chiseling out the remnants .

Gerry

For starters, I would tend to go with the suggestion about the temperature sender causing the ecu to think the car is cold, and therefore overfuelling when it's warm.

There are 2 temperature sensors, 1 for the gauge and the other for the ecu signal. The ECU one is in the top of the head right under the throttle butterflies. They cost about a tenner on the bay.

I recognise your car from our local meetings (it's also been to S Club with our group) and I will be working in South Lanarkshire a couple of days this week - I could maybe have a look if you like. PM me if you want to arrange.

You might also get more help posting on the S forum - lots of guys there know the likely problems on these cars

No worries Gerry
I'm in Motherwell so probably not far from you.
Having similar problems with my 400se, so I'll be trying the temperature sensor first.
Cheers

There are quite a few TVR's in Lanarkshire, but they don't come on the Scotland forum? Or if they do, they don't post. You might have more joy on the TVR section here on PH. The suggestions above sound about right, so if you still have problems after doing that, please let us know.
