As some of you may know, for the last week or so there have been about a thousand protestors in Wall Street in the US, yet you see nothing in the news about it, either in the US or here, yet it is all over the internet including footage of police officers (notably Antony Bologne) doing things like walking up to protestors that are being penned in by barriers and sprayed with CS gas with no provocation.

Why isn't this in the mainstream news? Is the story being spiked?

sounds like a none story really. they are not protesters they sound like antagonists who want to provoke something that is not there.

I would pen them in and pepper spray them, it shuts them up and disperses them.

edited - has there really been a thousand protesters daily, it sounded like 1000 on the first day, now around 150 scrubbers.

the other 850 probably went back to work/school

The fact that their lives didn't turn out was well as they'd hoped.

These are people with ipads and macbooks. They're typical middle class lefties.

So do I. I'm not a leftie. That's not the point.

Then you consider the usual logical ambiguity being exploted here, namely that a implies b does not, in fact, necessarily mean that b implies a.

Converse insufficiency conditions, transposition and all that stuff.

However if you wish to confess to being a middle class lefty, who could possibly object - freedom of speech rules EU OK.

Bit harsh using tear gas on them. Threatening them with soap and water would disperse them just as effectively.

I did logic in college on a crappy course I was forced to do. I forgot it approx 20 minutes after doing the exam.

When I was there last week, I didn't see a very potent demonstration, was quite weak to be honest.

Was basically just that communal place just up from WTC with loads of card board on the floor covered in jabs at the bankers. Lots of homeless looking people sleeping there, tin foil hat men blabbing to anyone who stood still long enough and a very small walking demonstration.

Funny to see the wall ST guys coming out to have a look and a laugh too.

But yeah pretty small, low key from what I saw. Probably why it isn't in the news
