Got my Tuscan S today
Discussion
Said a final goodby to my long sufering Griff today and took delivery of a Tuscan S. The griff put up a hard fight by loosing it clutch fluid while waiting to be collected! The Tuscan looks fantastic, Reflex Charcoal by all acounts although it looked pretty purple today. Spent an hour adjusting the boot catch so it would actually shut (nice PDI, got the blank sheet witht he car
) then took it out for a spin. 3500 rpm for 250 miles and then 4000 upto 1000 miles the book says, its going to be a nightmare, it just wants to go all the time. The car feels so much better than the Griff, and its mutch better screwed together, apart from the rear window, I wondered why the car arrived with the roof on and the back window loose in the boot, not in the bag, just lying in the boot. It took me an hour to get it fitted tonight. One of the catches is not fitted properley, the fluffy pad had been removed and the screws undone in an atenpt to make it fit. I have packed out the screws for now until it goes for its 1000 mile service. I also have a black box attached to a lump of gluey carpet hanging down under the passanger side parcel shelf, no idea what it is? Its a real shame when a car looks as good and drives as good as this, but you have get a screw driver out to finish it yourself, at over £50K its a bit poor realy.

Well done on getting a Tuscan S in a cool colour !!
Just a shame about your dealer who did not do a proper PDI. The black box hanging down in the passenger footwell is the heater control unit and can be re-secured. This happened to me in my Tuscan Red Rose on it's first day back in June 2000! Good to see over 4 years of production TVR are improving the build of the cars.....not !!
Enjoy the running in period.....when you have 2000 miles on the clock it will be flying...
cheers

Enjoy...you will have many hours/days with your new toy! Mine just gets better and better with the miles...and just came back from Le Mans after another near 1000 miles with no problems at all! Its due for its 12k shortly....also in the drivers parade, where it took 1hr 20mins to get around the temp stayed at 92 all the way round!
