I'm sure we have all exposed some absolute horror stories when working on our cars.
I thought that it would be interesting to share these, just out of interest or as a warning about what to keep an eye on. So I'll startit off with a some of mine.
This was off a car which had been off the road for some years.

These are from the 2006 refurb, immediately after I bought the car, it came with a one day old MOT !!! Caveat Emptor...
Top Ball joint thats seen better days
Not as bad as Norms example but bad enough, alongside the 99p ebay acquisition (XR2i)
And the worst was this offside trailing arm, repaired by Adrian Venn later.
I was going to show a picture of my wallet as well but in reality it has not cost me a lot beyond the initial repairs required when I bought it,in the five years Ive had it...
will be sadly missed

Hi all,
I just thought that I would share this one too ! When I bought my car it had,had some new carpet fitted. To fit them I can only assume that the seatbelts where removed and in doing so, someone snapped off the seat belt bolt on the drivers' side. To get over this instead of a proper repair they welded a nut to a piece of mild steel angle and welded it to the side rail a little further along from the original and re-drilled the GRP and put in a new bolt.

Doesn't conform to any known standard this.....don't you just love em eh...... your life in their hands !!!
I have fully repaired it now as part of the chasssi refurb. You just dont know whats under there do you ?
