Food photography

Got a bit of a project on involving food. I know a few of you here are heavily into it, just wondering if you had some useful pointers for researching, any iconic / renowned 'togs to look at, theory and practice - or even just good advice from yourselves!

Never done it commercially, though might snap my dessert at weddings if it looks nice enough!

Lighting is the hardest bit I find. It can make the difference between chocolate looking like something that was dredged out of the Thames, and something that makes you drool. That being said, I rely fairly heavily on post-editing now, covers most of my crimes against cameras nicely

I'm not a photographer but I'm an art director and have worked with some outstanding food photographers on various publications over the years

Here are a few of them whose work I think is fabulous.
They all work with natural light.
Having worked with them all pre digital they all know how to get the shot in camera so minimal processing in Photoshop is used.

many thanks for all the suggestions, apologies for lack of response after posting the topic - everything went a bit hectic here! Some inspirational sites there that have indeed proved very helpful so thanks for those!
