Are there any more modern tycoon games which are recommended? I was a big fan of transport tycoon and industry giant 2 but thats about 8 years old now!

None which have the same character and gameplay. Everything is 3D now and not as fun.

I've just been playing through Rollercoaster Tycoon and it's still awesome!

My favourite kind of game, I just don't play modern games.

TTDX has been heavily updated (open source), take a look here: http://www.openttd.org/en/

When I was younger, I used to lose weekends. Left it running over night for bonus money and kept building and building.

Now, I'm too busy, but its on my work PC, in case its a slow day!

Did anyone else take to crashing expensive trains into each other, building stupid tunnels and really tall mountains after they'd got to the point that they could afford to buy the globe several times over?
...Or was that just me? whistle

I'm sure you can get TTDX as Abandonware now.

And I as well still lose (And literally just closed after a 2hour session) on OpenTTD. Get the 32bpp graphics to make it look nice too
