Hey guys,

Need a stopover in the Kendal / NW M6 area next month and doing some preliminary research now.

I was hoping to get some basic but clean with easy parking and 24hr check in for as little as possible!

Checked out M6 N/bound Burton Travelodge which gets some very mixed reviews on tripadvisor but only £29. Also Days Inn Killington which gets *slightly* better reviews but at £51.

If I have to pay £50+ not that worried but want to make sure I can sleep (not kept awake by traffic) and the room isn't filthy etc.

Any good calls from the long distance drivers / lorryists amongst us?

Don't think B&Bs will be any good as most I have looked at are just as expensive and I won't be able to check in late (probably midnight)...

Tebay services are awesome (disclaimer - I've never 'hotelled' there).

Sounds nice but rooms seem to start at £87 - I'm only getting £60 allowance so that is my hard limit...

Have you looked on laterooms.com. Might find there is a decent country pub that does a B & B deal. Have used this option a few times over the years and have always been pleasently surprised

Yeah you'd get a decent Lake District B&B for £60 - get googling.

Trouble with B&B/Guest Houses is that I won't be able to check in until 11.30pm at the earliest, and most seem to be a 2 night minimum stay on a Friday frown

If it's one night, and you're only there for a few hours for a sleep I'd go for the cheap Travelodge, and put the money saved towards a nice hotel some time when you have the chance to appreciate it!
