Anyone else played it? I stumbled apon it by chance so put Crysis back in, updated it, installed the addon and started to quite enjoy myself for half an hour last night.Sadly, bed was calling by midnight, but it seemed like it may be a bit of a giggle.

It started with a helicopter scene and either the Predator music or 'Long Tall Sally' by Mr Richard, then you and your team wander off in to the jungle.I have heard the predator a few times and seen my guys firing blindy at the forest with the mini-gun and with the graphics ramped right up, it does send a bit of a chill down the spine! Even the pussy joke was included, even the pussy joke was included hehe

Anyway, my question was whether it's worth carrying on with? There are a few normal enemy to deal with, but Predator or not, I'm not sure I just want to plod endlessly around a jungle in the hope of seeing the thing. Is there much of a story to it etc?

Oh and according to the addon readme, you have to have the DVD version of Crysis as it won't work with the Steam version.

Oh this is news to me. I didn't realise that there was a mod scene for Crysis. Sounds fun.

Do you have a link please?

Mod: (Crysis needs the 1.2 update patch if you are doing a fresh install of the game)

http://www.moddb.com/mods/predator-the-heat-of-the...

Also, if you slap "Predator Heat Of The Jungle" in to youtube, you can see some gameplay.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUHbOxgX-DE

It also includes 3 game modes, I only tried the story mode or whatever it was called.

Ah hang on matey..just seen this on the forum..

"That's strange, I got it to work with my Steam version" and then one of the main modder guys said he didn't have Steam to test it with, so you may still be in luck!

I had to turn down the graphics to get it to run right anyway. To anyone thinking of getting this: you are only buying half a game, the second half (as soon as the aliens turn up) is utter ste.

Harsh but true.

Much the same goes for Crysis: Warhead too (which I actually enjoyed more as I think Sykes is the better protagonist plus I liked having a machine-pistol as a side arm)

Not sure why, but I noticed that if I run the original Crysis in full screen, it does stutter about a bit. That's 1920x1080 res almost all details on max. However, untick the full screen option (all it does is add a small border to the edge of the image so is still almost full screen anyway) and it runs like an absolute dream!
