the wind could cause havoc today, certainly there is the opportunity fopr a few splits to develop but the HTC team is pretty strong, i can see cav staying in front until the middle of the week but i dont think he will win it as geriant thomas also has a few ideas of his own. cav will want to take the final stage and i cant really see anyone stopping him but stages 5 and 6 will be crucial and a few strong riders in a break on either day will be a blow to the rest.
Agree about today in the wind - it's blowing a gale up North I believe. I was racing yeseterday and the wind was awful. First time I've really felt my deep section wheels to be a struggle. One lad got blown off and collected a broken collarbone for his troubles, albeit he was riding 100mm sections and adopting an interesting riding style apparently.

Looked to be a nasty crash in the wet yesterday which caused Jens Voigt to retire, which is a shame. Nice riding by Renshaw to take Cavendish to the line, they are both so much faster than anyone else
broken finger apparently. I would have thought Jens could just hack it off with a chain tool and carry on. Highway Star said:

Highlights only I think - ITV4 20:00 - 21:00
Cheers Ewen.I'd searched the Sky+ planner but must have missed looking at ITV4.
I just tried to watch last night's highlights online but got too frustrated with 10+ mins of chat before any race coverage and adverts I can't fast forward through.

That's a shame about Jens. I was looking forward to seeing him in London!
Yeah, pity JV is out (at least he can have a bigger perty for his 40th).Here's the best of Jens in case anyone feels they're misssing out...
My brother and me rode over to Gun Hill near Leek in Staffs to watch earlier. I was surprised at how split up the peloton was, but some of them seemed to be suffering up the climb and there had obviously been a crash or two at some point.
Here's some pics for ya

It was a bit chaotic after the riders had passed through as there were spectators, bikes and cars everywhere, and just to make it more interesting a load of race support vehicles had been delayed by the crash so they were mixed in too... The ride back took in a fast rolling A road and we 'raced' some guys who thought they were fast, at least until they blew up after 10 minutes
