The new JAG is 475 bhp and supercharged

i am guessing it uses the duratech engine like ours

does anyone know if it is the same block, crank and pistons ?

i am guessing the parts will also fit our engines

would be interested to know where they get the parts from and the compression ratio of the engine

But :-

A) it doesn't really exist yet
B) it's not 475bhp, it's 380bhp.

If they keep the price to £50k it's an interesting car, but as far as Noble parts are concerned I'd say it's irrelevant. 380bhp is a bit meh now really.

The Jag engine has different heads and doesn't have valve springs... Also runs variable valve timing. Overall a much superior head to ours.

Of cause I'm referring to the jag engine that runs our block and crank etc, no idea if the new jag is even related.

ok thinking about it Im meaning it doesnt have a rocker as it must have springs lol.... the cam sits on the valve rather than having the rocker arrangement our heads have which restricts our revs frown

would the jag heads fit our bottom end ?

would be interesting to get them both checked on a flow bench to see how much better it is in stock form

The "new" supercharged V6 JLR engine is the current AJ133 V8 with 2 cylinders lopped off. it bears no relation to the old FoMoCo V6 engine.

yes the jag heads fit our bottom end but loads changes.. chains and chain cover changes.... water flows the opposite way round the engine, water pump is driven differently (not from cam) tensioners are all different. inlet trumpets are also different but I think ours may fit although not tried.
On the plus I believe the exhaust manifolds fit lol

I have some jag heads and ford heads if you wanted to do some comparison flow testing!

cheers Andy

I guess if i am going to go to the trouble of fitting a different cylinder head it will probably be easier to get the stock head modified

i have a ST220 inlet that looks like an improvement on the stock noble one - I must get it tested at some point.

But you'd have to go N/A wouldnt you? I've never seen throttle bodies on a turbo car.

i have used throttle bodies on a turbo charged car before, you have to weld a plenum around them

the results have been quite good, but it can cause issues with getting a clean map signal

inside the ST220 inlet is actually a design like a trumpet so you get the same effect.

The ST24 intake on the 2.5 is actually adjustable in length from short to long
