Brake Calipers
Discussion
I absolutely caned the living daylights out of my S2 on track days and the brakes took it remarkably well, if they're in good working order they can take a lot of abuse. Do you actually need discs all round, or is it just something you fancy adding? I haven't done the conversion myself (I changed to a V8S instead) but I understood it involved replacing the whole hub assembly and took quite a lot of time and money. Has anyone managed to do the rear drum/disc conversion without replacing the whole thing?
this shows two diameters? from memory I thought mine are 273 (larger dia. than front) but are definately solid, not the vented ones so I'm probably wrong!
rather than use the Griffith bearing carrier (this has the caliper mounts on it)because the bearing sizes are different, I used some adaptor brackets from www.3gecomponents.com
These give the choice of having the caliper at 3 or 9 o'clock whereas the Griffith ones would have put it at 12 o'clock.
Where I have them the nipple is not at the highest point so bleeding is a bit aukward, but not something you do everyday so I can live with that.

Don't look very big in picture, perhaps they are the smaller diameter?
