Pardon my, how you say, poor English.

In a silent village I live in ze Lot.

The week last, the village was, ow you say, invaded by a grumpy Rosbif and iz lovely family. I theenk iz name was Victor Meldrew, or sumzing.

Arrives they in a banged out Jeep (bloody Americaines!) and asks for four ciggies and has the naughty to ask for lunch!

Bloody Rosbifs - you may as well stay at home!

See you all what I mean.

Ee az no, ow you say, sense of humour.

Ee iz probably the same guy who visited l'harbour d'Ilfracombe and complain about ze poisson.

His mother was a hamster, and his father smelt of Elderberries!

Now, go away before I taunt you a second time.

Funny as toothache you are....... tt!

Reading the responses to my thread and speaking to other British, Irish and Dutch tourists, it seems I'm far from alone in finding the locals of that area far from hospitable.
Je pense que tu a besoin d'un subscription a la "Casse d'humeur" organisation.

I'm not going now. Pierre has put me right off, I can tell you, what with him and all the other scary stories about France spreading over PH like a rash, I've just booked 2 weeks in Torremolinos, all inclusive with a complimentary copy of the Daily Mail every morning. Phew, that was a close shave. Thank you Buss Pass and Pierre (oh, and Paddy too).
