Wife's family looking for a big villa in florida for Xmas.

6 adults - so 3 good, ensuite rooms needed.

4 kids - so two other rooms required.

heated pool

beach location.

We saw a few decent ones at Long Boat Quay.

Budget is $4k-$5k for the week max.

I assume west coast is 'better' than east coast (ie clearwater, Long Boat Quay etc) - but I am no expert.

Either coast is fine - as mother in law wants to take kids to Disney for a couple of days in there somewhere.

Links to good quality villas would be appreciated.

Cheers

After a bit more research, Gulf coast is the place.

Will look around Clearwater, St Pete's, etc.

Let us know what you find.

I'm looking for the same thing at the moment. We did Orlando a few years back including all the parks etc and this year fancy something a little less busy.

St. Petersburg is looking like a winner but would rather book with someone recommended.

Still looking.

Need a villa near Disney for 3 days and a beach side one for 7 days.

Still not got much closer to a solution...

Whats the weather like around that time of year? I'm looking to head away for a week right after new year and my OH keeps telling me it'll be cold then.

Zippee, in all likelihood it'll be T-Shirt and Shorts weather but it does get a little chilly at night, well, enough to warrant wearing a sweater and some trousers.

I like Winter as it normally sits around 70-80 degrees and you don't get the same humidity in the air or the thunderstorms that are so common in the Summer.

Having said that, we were over there in January 2010 and it was so cold that fish were floating listlessly at the surface of the water, iguanas were freezing solid and falling out of trees and it snowed! Still, made for some fun with our Camaro SS. biggrin

Johnfm, check your PMs.

Bump

Dates confirmed no as 26/12 to 02/01.

Needs to be gulf coast (clearwater, Tampa type area) 5 bedrooms (to sleep 10) and heated pool.

Trying the usual places (owners direct, debbie's villas).

Any other sources?
