Looking for slow, simple, classical music.

I prefer classical music to be quiet, slow, calm and relaxing, with a hint of sadness.

Can anyone else recommend similar types of music? Im not very good at finding classical stuff, and most of the stuff i seem to find is too loud, fast etc.

You're looking for stuff in the minor key then. This tends to be softer, nicer sounding. Look for stuff in Bm as that is a naturally beautiful key.

It's hard tell if this has been mentioned already in one of the previous mystery links as I can't youtube from work... but just in case.. Albinoni's Adagio sounds like it might be the piece of music you are thinking of.

Or try a search for adagios on We7 (free) or spotify. Not all of them are in minor keys, but you should find a few. There are quite a few Cello based instrumentals on youtube that could fit the bill too.

I think you would enjoy the music of Thomas Newman - who did the Shawshank Redemption soundtrack and also Joe Hisashi - another classical composer who does stunning movie soundtracks. Try Princess Mononoke and Nausicaa - stunning films with magical scores.

I must admit, that was lovely. Not heard that before, and yes it's called Chamber Music as it's stuff composed to be played in a small room, by anything from a quartet to an octet.

I'm pretty much with you on my choice of classical: soft, calming, wistful, romantic etc etc. Exceptions being Mars by Holst, Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade, and the Coriolan Overture by Beethoven.
