Anyone used a Wattbike?
Discussion
My work has organised an open day for staff for the last couple of years and last year being a keen cyclist had a go on the Evans stand that was there. They just had a normal road bike on a turbo trainer with a power meter of some sort attached. Managed to achieve the highest power output last year and pretty chuffed with £100 Evans voucher.
Just back from this years and we had British Cycling there with a WattBike and what a serious bit of kit. Only had a quick look as a very busy day and one attempt at getting a decent power output but very impressed with the level of quality of the machine and the level of feedback you get from it. Bit over the top for a very amateur mountain biker but certainly beats a turbo trainer any day!

I had a go a while back. I agree it's a great bit of kit, but for the same money a Powertap and a turbo is better for overall training. I swap my PT between road racing and cyclocross racing, as well as training for both. When you know what power profiles you need to race it's so much easier to do targetted training, otherwise it's a bit of guesswork.
