which MTB tyres - half road and half off-road

Try these if you like small knobs (LOLZ) but still like some decent off-road ability: http://www.specializedconceptstore.co.uk/Detail/Eq...
I've got a pair on and they work well, even in snow!

I've got Schwalbe Smart Sams on my Boardman, been very happy with them.

Try Schwalbe crazy bobs. They're designed for dirt jump riding primarily but they're the best tyres for me if I decide to commute on the MTB along tow paths. They're really quick and cheap.

Maxxis Larsens are nice and fast rolling but work well in dry dirt, but I've never tried them in properly slippery conditions.
