X-Wing / Tie fighter and a 1st person squad based game set in the Warhammer 40k universe where you play a space marine starting as a scout and working your way up to a terminator.

I read PC Gamer for the first time in years the other month; somebody has developed a program that reskins old games to update the visuals; from what I can remember it's freeware and you needed to know your stuff for installing and implimenting it, but it's a compelling idea.

Whoever does the graphics on the original Metal Gear Solid into 3rd generation standard would be my hero!

Wipeout 2097.

Don't fk with anything; just bring it up to 2011 standards, on the XBox 360, tracks/music/ships and all.

Although Mrs J would probably divorce me.

They should NEVER remake frontier elite, it's perfect as it is now.

Braben is supposedly still making Elite 4, if it ever comes out, it's going to be Duke Nukem Forever all over again

To have any hope of meeting peoples' expectations of Elite 4, it's going to have to be Mass Effect meets Freelancer meets Colony Wars, and be staggeringly better than all of them put together.

So, yeah. DNF all over again.

On a tangentially related note, I downloaded the demo of R-Type Dimensions for the 360. I learned two things.

One: I'm still st at R-Type
Two: Some memories are best left as memories, fancy-pants "remix" graphics or no

Sadly this is the case.

Althoug I'd prefer them to have the original Elite flight model rather than the FFE, etc, model of realism.

Freelancer was very playable in that manner.

A co-op multiplayer version of UFO:Enemy Unknown would be fantastic. I've got the DOS version off Steam (the whole XCOM bundle was a fiver, or something) and it's still really fun to play. Well, it's fun up until the stage of the game where you suddenly start to have to micromanage your soldiers to find the ones with sufficient psi ability to not get possessed by aliens (and thus start either dropping their gear, shooting their mates, or pulling the pin on a grenade and standing there until it goes off) within the first two moves.
