Passenger footwell ecu

Hi,

I have a Griff and in the passenger footwell my ECU is just floating about. I assume it was originally fixed some how? and hints or tips would be greatly received.

In the chim its just shoved down the side of the battery, I assume some similar arrangement was standard on the griff

In the Cerbera its in the footwell and uses velcro to attach it to the car, just like all the other little electronics boxes and modules.

the ecu box is not fixed in the griff..... it wedges between the battery box and the transmission tunnel

I use the empty half bootle of Vodka from the wifes handbag, to jam it into place. Works a treat.

On a 500 there is no room between battery box and transmission so it`s just placed on top of the battery or in front , cutting down on leg room in the passenger footwell.

I have placed mine on top of the battery but isolated with a rectangular platform of M.D.F.

The Wedge cars have the ECU attached to a bit of board above the passenger footwell. One end of this board is attached to the car by a shed-hinge (appropriate!), the other end just "pushes in" behind the dash.

Lots of passengers get worried when the ECU falls onto their shins under heavy braking, many owners have developed Heath-Robinson tricks to keep the ECU in place, pity the factory couldn't.

Griffith ECU was originally laid on top of the battery box, on a piece of carpet and under-felt...seemed to hold everything in place nicely along with some miscellaneous wiring and relays.

Mines on a piece of wooden board on top of the battery, as they can be affected if it touches the battery terminals. Another crap TVR design. Also right under the water pipes!!
