London reccomendation for a special evening!
Discussion
It will be for a birthday, just two of us, and I want to go somewhere quite nice.
I've been looking at various reccomendations and what not, I haven't got a budget per se, but I'd rather not be landed with a bill much over £200.
Anywhere in central, preferably somewhere smart that requires one to dress up somewhat, I have seen Sketch mentioned on here? And apparently it averages £98 per head in there...
Any other places that will be very memorable and have incredible food?

I rather liked the grub at Clos Maggiore (Covent Garden) and the Mrs was suitably impressed too, think early dinner with a nice bottle was £120.
+1Went 2 years ago - had the tasting menu - IIRC was about £60 per head and then a decent bottle from the (telephone directory sized) wine list. Fantastic place and had desired effect on wifey....

Savoy or Petrus.
I'll be going to the Savoy Grill this weekend - thanks for that. Not going back to Petrus after my last experience there - got drunk and our second son was conceived that evening

Went from a very expensive £250-a-head meal to seriously expensive for the next 18 years. Just didn't realise at the time!
So much to choose from!!
She's a big seafood fan, me not so much but Scotts looks great.
But also clois maggiore looks excellent too and probably more my kind of food.
With regards to the savoy grill, I'd love to, but I just can't see how the steak will be better than Hawksmoor etc. Or am I not getting it?
