Stu,
Very sorry sorry to hear that, that is the worst nightmare!
Have you thought about setting up your own company? With the work and PC/software/programming knowledge you obviously have, there would be quite a few IT companies who sub contract instead of employing people with your skills? Just a thought

Sorry to hear that mate. You should find a new job no problem. Java & .Net are the big hit at the moment. I do not know any companies in your area but if I come across an opportunity I’ll drop you a line.

Sorry to hear that, Powerlord. They were naughty in taking you on knowing, as they must have, they were heading for receivership. I wish you every success in securing work swiftly. Tell us about the Tuscan. There's no pic on your profile.

na, I've been there for nearly 3 years. It was a startup. Always a possibility. Our product was selling just not quickly enough, and the venture capitalists pulled the plug. hey ho.

Tuscan is Mr Freefalls old one.

I'll see about piccies to profile, for now I've stuck some piccies on my website:

Done that before. Had my own company and contracted. Might do it again. Just depends what comes up locally. Will just have to wait and see :-/

Really sorry to hear that, mate. As a .NET architect that in the last four years has been made redundant twice, jumped ship to avoid it a third time, had my publisher go into liquidation, and has had it looming on the cards again, I can sympathise! It does make you think that contracting's actually a safer bet as you don't rely on a steady income.

Might well have some use for your skills in the medium term, though. Just need to know what's happening with the buy-out of a certain Internet bank first...
