Starts from where ET in ET1 leaves Earth and returns to his home planet. Here we find that ET's people are enslaved by an evil alien race, and ET's mission on Earth was actually to fact find and identify weaknesses in Earths defense. The aliens are holding ET's wife and 2 kids hostage under threat of death if he didnt do it.

ET returns home and provides them with Earths military information, and tells the aliens that humanities greatest weakness is our compassion.

Now we cut to the Earth characters. It's 10 years since ET last visited Earth, and Elliott is no longer in contact with his old friends. They've drifted apart and Elliott is struggling to fit into society after the enormity of what he went through as a kid. He's a bit rebelious, and is on his last chance at a deadend job he doesnt really want. The only thing keeping him coming to work is the attractive girl that comes into the shop for copies (it's a copy shop), but really he has no chance with her.

We now go into the US secret operations, the Generals are briefing the President about some large objects that have been identified travelling through space on their way to Earth. The president is unsure what to do...the Generals want to blast the objects, but the President decides we have to attempt peaceful contact first.

The Alien ships arrive, they are enormous!! They hover over the Earths main cities and strategic posts, and a strange humming can be heard before an almighty explosion occurs and each building is blow to smitherines!! Most of humanity is killed in the explosions, but in Los Angelis, there are 4 survivers that we follow.... Elliott and the copy girl survived when the photocopier was blown onto them and shieldded them from the blast, as well as a grizzled ex marine, and a tough female cop who shoots first and asks questions later (we find out later the ex marine has a drinking problem following a bad experience in Iraq where woman and children got killed during one of the operations he was in charge of, he is struggling to come to terms with that).

The 4 survivors battle ther way trhough LA, and try to get to the ocean, and a last cruise ship that they have been receiving radio transmissions from which is humanities last hope.

Now we bring ET back into the movie. He returns to Earth having felt terrible guilt for what he's helped cause. He finds Elliott through their telepathic connection, and tells him that the aliens are alergic to salt water. As luck would have it, the Marine was involved in a special operation to investigate the possibility of melting the polar ice caps and causing massive localised flooding in Iraq, thereby winning the war without nucleur weapons.

The device they were going to use was being tested at a nearby military base, so the 4 survivors fight their way through alien infestations and get to the device. They manage to trigger the device, and now a worldwide flooding is in effect. They start to make their way to the cruise ship, but the cop and Marine get seperated from the other two, and tell them to keep going, they'll hold off the aliens. Looks like they're killed off just as they're finding a love and understanding for eachother.

Elliott and copy girl keep going, and get onto the ship. There are a few scary moments where an alien has managed to get onto the ship as well, but they manage to kill it. Water rises, building start to fall, and the ship is about to go when Marine and Cop are seen running desperately towards the cruise ship. they just manage to grab a rope and get onto ther ship, as the pursuing Aliens and their space ships sink into the water (they'd landed their ships, and their pre flight checks take a considerable time, that's why they didnt just take off when the waters came, okay?)

We are the left with an Adam and Evesque (squared) situation, as they sail to the last few dry places on earth, mountain tops that are now showing perfect vegetation. ET re-appears now and explains to Elliott what had happened to his family and why he did what he did, Elliott forgives him, and ET takes a big load of sea water back to his home planet to take on the bad aliens with!! (opening up an option for a third movie, though a prequel showing ET as a kid, up to the initial invasion on his planet, would probably be better). ET now realises that humanities compassion is actually it's greatest strength, very deep stuff.

This movie cannot fail. It has the ET title which is one of the most popular and widely loved movies of all time. ET can be CGI'd to get rid of the corny ET movements, and make him seem more real, less of a loveable creature and perhaps a bit more hardcore (especially in the third movie when he takes on the aliens, Im thinking retractable fangs that can inject poison, make the whole thing darker, like the progression of the Harry Potter movies).

Im thinking a release date of 2014, and have detailed my movie ideas to you all as I need additonal backing for the project. I have 70p on me so far, which may be enough to buy the "ET" name from Steve (Spielberg), it's an important element of the movies success I feel. I may need a can of pop from the machine here, which costs 70p, so I wouldnt take it for granted that the budget is absolutely in place, so if anyone else feels this could be as huge success as I do, feel free to pledge some cash towards this and lets make it happen!!

Think of all those 80's nostalgalists that would come to see ET2, and bring their kids, not likely to fail, especially with a much stronger story than ET1 had.

Update: Ive just had a can of pop which has severely reduced the budget. It is now 0p.

That's cool though, once a few of us get on board and we all start contributing to the costs, the budget will be solid, and Ill dip into it as I need to to get my movie produced.

There is simply no way a movie with "ET" in the title can fail!! especially with the new modern direction Ive taken it in, ET1 will be remembered as the instantly forgetable prequel to Invasion.

Honest, it's all from my own mind, no copying or research done at all, I really am this stupid.

I was just thinking how the most successful film ever hasnt had a sequel when the bean counters in Hollywood know it would be huge!! So I figured with my background in TV aerial installations, there really is no reason why it shouldnt be me that makes it!! the story evolved from there, and has grown into the epic you see above.

If I were you I'd delete the thread and send the synopsis to Stephen Spielberg without delay.

As 'good' as it sounds, you missed the boat on the alien invasion films, you should have pitched it a while back and have it released with the terrible 'Skyline' and hugely mediocre 'Battle Los Angeles'.

Give it a few years until we get the next round of alien invasion movies and put it in then, it's bound to be a blockbuster!

How about ET returns home and provides economic advice and gets the alien race to invest in Austin Rover and BP. Afet the umpteenth stock market crash, ET's planet joins the EU and immediately gets into trouble and has to be bailed out with strict austerity conditions. As a result, most of the ETs leave the planet and by-passing at least 500 planets en route find themselves in the UK declaring asylum.

Others arrive in the US and initially make it big in Hollywood. within 10 years, one has become Governor of California while another is in the final running for US president. Meanwhile in the UK, "Nick ET" has set up the ETNP and is pressing for the abolition of all non-ET persons while David Cameron announces that this is a great opportunity for the UK to develop inter-galactic trade relations exporting mobile phones.

15 years later, the ET race have set up car manufacturing facilities and have usurped Toyota as top car manufacturer using advanced hum-o-hover technology which, not touching the road, are exempt from vehicle excise licence.

Im not really sure about going down the whole "investment movie" route, Im saving my ideas for an investment based movie for "Wallstreet 2 - Credit Crunch".

I like the way my script touches on the human condition, and it would capture the audience in unpredictable "Oh my god!! is the main character and his attractive will she/wont she accomplice about to be killed!!" twists and turns. Im think of using Megan Fox as the copy girl, the main guy from Twilight as the rebel copy boy, Russell Crow as the ex marine, and Kate Beckinsale as the tough cop.

In the early stages of writing is also "The Fast and The Furious - Bluemotion", where we cleverly introduce a more green theme to the film by having the characters all racing the VW Bluemotion range of cars. To keep the "tuning scene" crowd interested, Vin Diesel pulls up in a Prius that he's sooped up with a 1000 Volt battery!! and the Bluemotion gang improve performance through clever VW approved improvements, like the optional rear wing and 16" alloys.

The US government will get behind it no doubt, especially since the bluemotion cars have a top speed of around 60MPH so no speed limits would be broken during any street racing scenes.

I dont have any firm ideas, but at the end I want Vin Diesel, kneeling next to a single small purple flower, as the camera pans out and the end title music starts (something meaningful and sad), symbolising that even a hard man like Vin can appreciate his role in preserving a single fragile flower.

I really wanted to get £100000.00 for a 5% stake, but perhaps we could meet somewhere in the middle?

ET goes home and say that Earth is dying as humans are putting lots of plant food gas into the air which is having a significant effect upon the bank balances of professional liars.. ET's planet then invade to save mankind from itself, discover it's all a big hoax, and then laugh at the humans who are so gullible.

In the school playground, circa 1983 James Head told me they had already made ET2 and he had seen it. And it ws nothing like this. So I dont know where you got that nonsense from, OP...

Okay, so we have £25 so far, we're on our way!!

As the Producer, executive producer, production manager, unit manager, writer, director, and casting director, Ill obviously be taking a larger cut of the billions than everyone else. Lets just say that your 10% isnt equal to my 10%, but you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you were part of something great, and who can put a price on that?
