Well, I'm happy for you, old chap.

Not only has Mrs Greg had her first experience of road rage today (and if you're a Firebird owner who regularly drives the A45 near Daventry, I'm looking out for you - threatening women isn't fashionable nor becoming of a man of your years ), some stupid f***er has opened a door straight into the drivers' side of the Boxster. Nice dent near the door.

Not a good day, so far, then. Brandy's helping, but not much

Carzee,

Totally agree. I couldnt careless about my daily runner as it goes all over the place and especially into cities - esp. London. Cant really have a decent car there as I would be permanently stressed about parking knocks and dents...

It is a rather refreshing feeling though. Someone broke my rear bumper - cracked the plastic thing - dont care, screwdriver popped out the crack and I will happily leave it. Mmm, more money saved towards the TVR Maintenance appeal...

Cheers,

Paul

Went to the salvage auctions last week and they had a G reg brown 2.0 ghia granada with 120,000 on the clock, it looked like a 12 year old high mileage motor but I nearly pissed myself when the auctioneer couldn't get a bid at £100 then £50 so sold it for a tenner !!! The guy that bought it I then saw get in it and drive out the gates ! Top buy I'd wager the fuel in the tank was worth that much so I can't imagine him being too fazed if it got keyed, there's certainly something to be said for shitters everyone should have one.

Me I've got an old G reg golf that lives on the drive and is refered to as the "disposable car" we often get in it and drive to the pub/town/peoples houses get pissed and leave it there for a few days before we can be arsed to go and find it again, so far it's never been touched, now I would never have done that with the TVR!

Mate of mine down in Yeovil runs nothing but "disposable" cars. Like he says - if a tractor coming the other way scrapes all down one side - drive it for another year then get another!

There's certainly a case for it - but I couldn't go as far as £250 car like he does. Couldn't stand all the calls to the RAC...

Having said that. I'm SERIOUSLY thinking of getting a runner. For occasions when the TVR AND the PORSCHE are BOTH off the effin' road. oh f***, oh...fooooey.

I love the idea of old shitters, I have had a few in my time, you can park them anywhere, bump into things (not other cars of course ) and then scrap them in the end.
The catch is the insurance !! theiving barstards!!

I found a lovely canary yellow mark III Cortina with a purple velour interior and the obligatory black vinyl roof complete with 70's slot mags the other day for £300!

Ideal car to piss off my directors and save mileage on the Chim I reckon.

Matt, you want to tell the missus it's either the Ford or for just a few more quid you MIGHT be able to upgrade the Chim to a Cerb ... worth a try i think.

No.. it happened in Staines.. funny thing is the car was parked on a street most of the day. I moved it into the company car park in the afternoon once the early birds had started to go home. I didn't notice any scratch, even though I'd opened that door at the time... but it was there when I came out at 5 o'clock...

Unlikely - and even if there is, and we see some scrote, who's gonna do anything about it.. ?

No point.. just gotta accept it and carry on .. or systematically batter everyone in Staines who looks a bit dodgy.. hmm.. could take a while..

Drove an old Granada for years before it finally succumbed to terminal illness. Even then I got a few quid for it, from a guy who wanted it for banger racing. In all the time I had it I never had any trouble with road rage. Could it be because at one time every TV drama had the villains driving a granny?

I think I've said it before, but if I had to drive in London again I'd get an old Sierra and drop a 4litre V8 in it and paint random panels in primer.

should keep the berkinalds at bay

Oh to have a choice in the matter, student loan won't stretch to a decent car
