BBC1 Our War: The Invisible Enemy
Discussion
I caught it by luck last week and it makes great viewing, if harrowing.
I am sure that there are namby pamby's out there who will be apoplectic at the fact that he shot a rocket and wasted it, or that there are other things happening that "cost money" that shouldn't be happening. But when you see this, how the noobs are basically s
tting themselves prior to their first patrols it makes for a huge realisation that war is as scary as it has ever been.
Last week (if anyone saw it) where one chap had to pull his best mate out of the firing line after he'd been hit, then had to give him aid by a mud wall and then when four of them carried him back for evac on a makeshift stretcher where they'd forgotten to pick the long tabs up causing them to drag along behind and be stood on meaning they dropped him every 4-500 yards.
When they got him to the Chinook and the pilot says "Would you guys back there doing the work rather go slow and smooth or fast?" They all answer "FAST FAST FAST!!" before he finishes the question and that was quite sad to listen to.
Gotta hand it to all of those guys out there doing what they're told whether you agree with it or not.
