Bands That Coulda/Shoulda Bin Even More Popular

I always contend that with a decent singer and a few lyrics Wishbone Ash would have rewritten the charts for many years.

Apart from them (and you can probably tell I'm a child of the 60s and 70s), why weren't these bands even bigger?

Used to be a fan of John Miles back in the day and agree he/they should have been bigger.

Similarly, Bruce Hornsby & the Range never achieved the heights which they deserved IMO.

Many others I'll have to think about to recall...

Couldn't agree more, It Bites were a fantastic band. Still play Once Around The World in full on a regular basis.

There was a local Leeds band called NHSWA that were really inventive when I was at uni.
Also, my mate's band (no really) Add 9 were a very good 8 piece jazz funk band.

Have to agree with the Wishbone Ash nomination, watched them supporting, I think Jeff Beck, thought they were miles better.
I'd add Climax Blues Band (Who I also saw as a support) and Budgie.

For me it's arc angels, a really good blues/rock band that only ever did one album in the early 1990s. They even supported Clapton for a few gigs.
