Stayed in Marsa october two years ago,for a week.Marina Lodge at Port Ghalib.
Not much to Marsa and it's very spread out so you'll find yourself 'confined to barracks' at night but presumably your hotel will have enough entertainment of
its own. There's some restaurants and bars, but not many,in Port Ghalib should you want to go out.The diving of course is fantastic.Last time I went we saw white tips
and dolphin, but not manatee. In fact Abu Dabbab was a bit of a let down. It's certainly quiet..you'll have a fantastic time.

Abu Dabbab is boring if you don't see Dennis/Denise. Highlight of my numerous dives there was a turtle in the middle of the bay.

If you can get out to Elphinstone Reef, then the diving is much better there, and you've a good chance of seeing sharks, including oceanic whitetips in October

Also, the point at the north end has very nice soft corals. The southern end of the reef is not so interesting, though that is where the OWTs tend to be found, along the large plateau at the end where the boats hang out.
