Is it possible to fit 225x50 onto Front o/e 15" Estorils ?

I'm finally changing my older Bridgstones on the front of my Chim 500 Estorils with o/e 215x50/15.
There is more choice of 225x50x15 so i firstly need to confirm if this size can be fitted onto original 15" orginal estorils without mods to wheels or fouling? I'm sure i've seen later Chim/Griffs wearing this size?
I have been very happy with the current set up so i would also be interested to note if the wider size at the front changes handling characteristics/ lift/ steering etc by fitting larger fronts (albeit a small increase).
I want to keep the o/e look so no larger size aftermarkets or 16" estorils required.

The Chim/Griff 500,s with PAS were designed to have 225/50 x 15 tyres without the need to worry about interference! The hard part is to find ZR rated tyres, but if you inform your insurance company, then they should be happy with VR rated tyres providing you do not exceed the tyres speed rating.

Thanks for confirming as my MOT failed and has expired now so i need to move fast.
Strangely, my tyres were original spec 215/50/15 Bridgstone S01's for the 500 with P/S, also confirmed in my handbook as correct size. They suited it well no understeer or screeching at the limit.
Perhaps they increased size to 225 later in the 500's life. Pleased i can fit larger width tyres on exsiting rims, you can't always do that in my experience, lets hope they keep the same balance i have with current set-up.
Dunlop SP9000 are Z rated in that size, although Toyo T1R at V rating seem to be preferred option. I'm suprised more original cars don't have this issue as sizes becoming scarce.
