"Foreign couple".

I wonder where they're from? Does the ambulance service look after pets in that country? I doubt it.

how catastrophic. i say beat them to death with their dead cat.

i'm sure there's some claws in law to reclaim money for the taxpayers purrs.

its not fur that we pay the bill as there's not much in the kitty.

Judging by some of the responses in the pets forum when one mentions anything remotely negative about an animal I'd say they're not in a minority.

A lot of pet owners need some perspective.

Inability to use capital letters at the beginning of sentences should be punishable by death too.

I'm sure I've been told that fireman sometimes rescue cats from trees - or is that a myth?

How do people contact the fire service in those instances? Is there a special "cat in tree" hotline separate to the normal 999 service?

Paramedics should have just defibrillated the cat.
I'm just glad people this stupid haven't managed to breed. Well they have, just not this couple.

This is a long way from the worst of it. A number of good mates of mine are paramedics. They have so many "regulars" that they all know one another by name. One that particularly springs to mind is the known and previously convicted paedophile who calls an ambulance once every couple of weeks or so with "chest pains". This illicits the most urgent repsonse - 8 minutes from memory. The operators and paramedics HAVE to repond by law. They would collect this chap, "rush" him to hospital whereupon - praise be to God - he'd staged a full recovery. He would then promptly check himself out, and go to visit the primary school which just happened to be next door to the hospital.

The boys have numerous tales of people who understand and who abuse the system time and again. They also have lots of very very funny stories that I'm happy to relay in DDs.

How about a life sentence for mistakes involving use of the plural for 'fireman' i.e. firemen, even after an edit wink and then there's the re-education process to be applied while inside, regarding heresy against doctrine for not using the gender neutral 'firefigher' or 'fireperson' smile

And leaving "t"s out of firefighter. Shouldn't be allowed smile

I actually think that it's a mark of a civilised society that rescue services will spend their time dealing with the silly calls as well as the serious ones.

I would look on it as "response training". I'm sure every time they dash out on a call they hone their response skills - which all goes to make them more effective when they really need to be.

They've probably been claiming child benefit for it, and will apply for a bereavement grant. This is the land of milk & honey for foreigners, after all.

yes Sadly. The "system" has led to a number of them leaving to pursue other careers.
