Went to Bedford yesterday for the how fast event and really enjoyed it..
Some really nice cars and plenty of bantersmile
Was there in a grey nissan skyline..
Thankfully managed not to crash or break it so day was a success!!
There was a beautiful talbot sunbeam with over 600bho! Sounded lovely but did have some bother with noise.. heard he had to turn the boost down from 4bar!
Cheers all,
Sam

I was there. Sam you did some AWESOME drifting onto main straight!!!

great to watch smile

Was fun afternoon. I had one go in my Clio and one go in my ExigeS

Muffed the lap in the Lotus... NAILED the lap in the Clio (clipped cone sadly... was soooo close)

1.26.3 in BOTH cars!!! WEEEIRD! thought it was an error at first but it wasn't

West circuit WITH those cones out is a real challenge huh!

Totally different not being able to nick some curb here and there!

Loved it smile

Was the Talbot Red? Probably the NMS one. doesn't run 4 bar I wouldnt have thought!!! maybe 2.4bar?

Its a Cossie engined one yes?

Hey Porkie,
Hehe thanks for compliment mate it was so nice to be able to do that and not get black flagged!
Weird you got the same times i the clio and exige? What tyres did you have on the clio?
There's some nice pics of the day on the msv website but don't think they've put the times up yet... quite keen to see everyone elses times lol!
1;26 is as quick as an R8 according to the leaderboard stats so a good time..
I somehow managed a 1:23 which is supposed to be nearly as quick as a carrera gt porsche! Something tells me they weren't really driving the porsche that hard!

How close was your rear to those cones when coming onto the main staight? It looked like you were about to knock em all over as it stepped out. Wish you could have seen.

I meant to take a picture but it was SO cool to watch I kept forgetting!

Sorry!

I was with Andy one of the instructors in the pitlane... and he said to me 'we have NEVER seen Sam drive like this on a track day before!'

I could have gone ALOT faster in the Exige. It was a PONY lap. overdrove it and tried to hard... wrong gears. You name it... I muffed it on that lap!

Was the opposite with the Clio. Lap was almost as perfect and hooked up as I would ever get! just needed 1 more inch and it would have counted. DOH!

Can't wait for the next one. Alot of fun. wish I had another go in both of the cars! 1 timed run wasnt enough!

Once again. Awesome driving dude. Hope to see you at another one. smile

Porkie - thanks a lot mate for your kind words and yeah would be great to see you at another day soonsmileAndy's a top bloke - all the lads there are really decent.. It's so nice that they aren't too strict and allow people to have fun..

It'd be great to see what you could do in the exige on a flying lap - they're brilliant cars and yours looked to have all the right bits!

Yeah i got a bit close to a lot of the cones actually! Nothing short of a miracle that i didn't take any out... Amazed i didn't spin too... came pretty close tho smile got some in-car vid if you want to see it?

Matt - yeah was a great day! I'd certainly like to do another one work permitting.. I hope MSV continue with these days as they're unique!smile
Are the results going to be put up on the how fast website?

Cheers,
Sam

Hi Sam,

The feedback has been very positive so we'll certainly be doing more - the next one is at the end of this month.

The leaderboard is now online at: http://www.howfast.co.uk/leaderboard.aspx

Thanks,
