Help, i am looking for my next car and I have decided on a Tuscan. If anyone has one what are the pros and cons.

Best to check back through the archives, everything you will need to know will have probably been covered before.....(many times)

Hi Rob-I have just taken the plunge and I am enjoying it enormously. I did exactly what Wacky suggests and read everything here-its a wonderfull site for info and opinion. The positives are just as big as you might imagine- fabulous car to own, really get a big lift everytime I look at it let alone drive it ( Tuscan S),fantastic for cruising, rumbles along making serious powerboat noises in traffic, gets a lot of admiration of the warm and friendly kind-people love TVR's. Let it stretch its legs where its safe and it will redefine performance for you-second and third gears are early forms of warp drive.

Any down sides?

Sure. Its an exotic- IMHO its a practical supercar-so it costs some to run. Just on drink alone its got a serious juice problem which even Alcoholics Anonymous would frown on. Best run I got was 198 miles to a tank and its 56 litres of Shells best bitter in one gulp.

Service intervals are 6000 miles and they cost. Its an exotic-don't compare it with VW-compare it with Ferrarri,Lamborghini,Aston Martin,Maserati etc.

Reliability-too early for me to comment but you will read some scary stories on this site. You will also hear some very weary refutations from people who are sick and tired of defending TVR. You will also hear nothing from people who are out enjoying their cars ,have never had a problem and don't have time to post.

Join the TVR Car Club-you don't have to own a car first.Meet up with your local club-there are bound to be runs this month.Ask a lot of dumb questions-I am sure you will get lots of helpfull advice.

I am currently having a ball-but am well aware there may be times when there are going to be problems- then I expect that-its an exotic.

Take your money elsewhere mate. Don't waste it on a TVR.

Yes there great cars but I've had three of them now and just about to get legal about my latest Tuscan.

I've had enough of the lack of quality and the repeat problems with them.

Look at Noble or even Marcos.

My missus was very wary about getting a Tuscan because of the reliability ( or lack of it) We got one in april and have had 2 major problems with it.but she still loves it and hasn't nagged me YET ! GO FOR IT.
