Sorry Andy mate - managed to capture this one on film. Good bit of racing on your part to maintain your line tho'

Oh and BTW - Mr Wheeler is on a mission - he is not happy that your car is faster than his.

Hope you enjoyed the cakes.

Unfortunately I 'took it up the rear' twice in that race - a very hard knock on the first corner that span me 360 degrees, put me from 8th to last and stoved the back of the car in.

And later on as you point out, the nice Mr Ross got rather intimate with me through the chicane, though to be fair I missed a gear a couple of times through there so was a bit slow.

Then finally I tried a slightly abmitious move up the inside of Mr Samuelson on the entry to the Esses and did a brief bit of Autocross, losing my rear diffuser, 3 seconds, all rear end grip and any chance of taking Ben for 6th.

Overall though I'm really happy with the weekend (rear damage aside) - 8th in Race 1 after a spin on Phil Keen's oil (lost three places then got them all back) and 7th in Race 2 after being last after the first corner. Given that its now just a year since I passed my ARDS test, I'm well chuffed with those positions

My car did seem particularly fast today - the engine seems to have hit a sweet spot, although the only real difference is new air filters. PW mentioned he was going to have words with my (i.e. his) engine builder!!

Nice to see you all. Debs - thanks v much for the cakes - yummy as usual And Pauline - no problem - I hope you raise some money from the bits. Do you want to auction a back end too?

Usual service resumed then I see Andy . At least this time it looks like it will polish out, or at least staple back together again.

Congratulations on the results - from the write up it sounds like they could have been even better.

See you at Combe in 12 days time (can't wait - love that circuit). I may even give the Ginetta a polish - what with other PHers respraying their cars every week, its difficult to keep up the appearances!

Hi Rich

Not sure about polishing out! We'll make a new corner and glass it in, then re spray the back (again!!).

I might have managed to get past Ben if I hadn't cocked up the attempt at the Esses, but I'm not sure. I was having a look up the inside and deciding whether to try something - but at 138 mph I ran out of thinking room and had no choice!!!

No 6 recorded the fastest speed through the speed trap in Race 2 - on the lap that I tried to go up the inside of Ben - which partly explained why I struggled to get the speed off to make the corner!

Certainly I could have done without the punt in the back on the first corner, but overall I'm happy (if getting more and more impoverished with every race)
