Good afternoon PH!
I'm sorry if this thread upsets anyone or is an annoyance but I just need to vent, my nan is dying of leukaemia.
She's had it on and off for 12 years which apparently is a good innings, now her condition has deteriorated and the outcome is inevitable, she's been like a mum to me when mine was elsewhere occupado, Im struggling to come to terms with this.

Just an update of my ventings,
Nan is home now, her consultant says home to die and it's just sinking in :'( she's now down to 4st total body weight, she looks so ill and is begging daily for pain relief, she said she can feel the cancer moving around, it's heartbreaking, thankyou for all your kind words and support, greatly needed and received!

Nothing I can say can make things better.
But at least you knew her and spent time with her and will have all those memories.
Never met any of my grandparents and I am envious of people who have

I was in a similar situation a few years back. I spent as much time with my nan as I could chatting to her and offering reassurance (my nan said she was scared, so reassurance was what she needed).

I also found that things like helping her to sit and rubbing her back where she had been lying down for so long gave additional comfort to her.

It is a tough time, but make the most of it is my advice.
