eh up my fellow hat wearing dancing friend.
This explains the 8 fezzas we saw on the way back from derby around the A43/M40 and the 2 Ghibli cups that were having some fun on the A43. Also saw a diablo and a Muira on the M40. Thought something was going on.
Auto Italia meets now then eh you ponce. Traitor to us Brits...
should have realised from your Fiat roots....

Great day out, and good to see friends old and new.
Best bits of the day for me :
1. 2 miuras
2. Speaking to the Lambo Countach owner who basically convinced me a countach is a practical sensible car and one I should own, and more importantly he was taller than me and still claimed it was viable. (oh christ what have I got myself into here...)
3. Seeing not one but several Maserati 3500 GT's (and a sebring) great. One day I will...
4. Driving up the M1 in a convoy with an even lovlier 3500GT spider. Fantastic car.
5. Nick's Tubi. I need one. (Thanks for the drink too Nick)
6. Quattroporte - it's one of the most beautiful cas I saw all day - (ook not as good as a miura though).
7. Chris_n starting to get all excited about the Khamsin in a realistic way - 'its almost practical'...
8. Gallardo. mmmm
7. Enzo - Arghghghg
8. Daytona's - several of them. Better keep saving.
9. 250 SWB. no matter how much I save I'll still never have one...
10. All those maseratis - great stuff, early single seaters, 3500's sebrings, original QP, mistral, merak, khamsin, indy, (no bora though - gutted), ghibli, bhibli sp[yder, biturbos, karif, shamal, ghibli cup, 3200's spyders, 4200's just about everything.
Who won the concours then?

really not quite sure why yellow is such a popular colour on them...
I bought mine as I needed a new car and it looked like a laugh (I hasten to point out that I was being crippled with large insurance premiums and hadn't yet become educated as far as pistonheadonism is concerned!)
Quite strangely, the colour is called Broom Yellow, whether that's a comment on performance or not I'm never quite sure.

Yep, very enjoyable day, and always nice to meet up with some fellow PHers. Shame my own Maserati was off the road as it would have been good to get a picture of it parked up with all the others. At least the fact I was in a Fiat meant I wasn't made to park too far away!
The list of drool-worthy cars was endless but as mr_tony points out there was one that left a lasting impression ...
I suspect I'm not alone coming away obsessed though, this is the man last seen peering into the luggage compartment of a Countach and describing it as big enough to take the shopping!
I was also impressed with the Tubi exhaust on Nick's car. I had suspected the noise might be a bit OTT and get me lynched by my neighbours if I went for one, but having heard it first hand now I would describe it as just the right level of sound to suit the car's character. If I ever get my car back I think I might be tempted.
I've got a few pictures from the day that I'll post up later when I get a minute.

Of course, the picture was of you, that green Maserati just got in the way!
Good to meet you on Sunday if only briefly - by the time I'd been sent off to park in the back of beyond I wasn't sure where you'd parked and let's just say there were a few yellow Seicento's!
Catch you again at another event.
