Hello,
Aroundabout 1980 sometime i purchased a Vixen S2 from a guy whilst living in Brentwood ,Essex. Long time later ()2007(?) with the car laid up in a couple of different lock ups i sold it on as a rolling chassis.
A couple of young chaps in a Grifth one a Greek or Cypriot came over to Romford to collect it and took it back to West of London somewhere.
Are you two guys in the frame still or is it as i had it in a lock up waiting to be restored..
Its registered as WFD 400H and is a S2 Vixen of 1969..

Let's hope it's not still a box of bits. I think we need moree classics out and about. When did it become a box of parts, presuming it was roadworthy in 1980.

Oh well at least i am forward more on its post history, but still in the same "wonder where it is" status lol.
I cannot believe how stupid i was leaving it in a garage or two for over a couple of decades.
How stupid i was actually buying a TR6 a couple of years ago . What i spent/wasted on that i could have restored and placed it on the grid!!
The Vixen was sold to continue in Kart racing with my Son..My sponsor/friend/customer at the time retired from Motorsport(age 83)and let me have his Hillman Imp historic rally car to which i also sold to finance Karting.
What have i got to show for it...About 80 trophies and a chance of a lifetime experience spanning from my Sons 9th birthday to his 18th or so!
Surprise i'm penniless now!
Still want to see that Vixen at least on the Hillclimb & Sprint scene to which i should have outed my Hillman Imp enthusiam some 30 years ago and done it myself!
Mant thanks for the replies all the same!

DVLA states it's not been taxed since april 1981 so probably still in bits or parts used as spares for another car.

Yes i checked that also ages ago. It had some desirable bits and good uphostery so you are probably right!
The body was quite exceptional though and thinking through all the new(?)at the time bits fitted i cannot see another Vixen better for restoration.
Anyhow lets hope it surfaces soon!

Hi you still out there, found your old post about tvr vixen reg no Wfd400h l have just purchased this car from Wakefield the guy had it for two years in his garage and not touched it \the owner before had had it since2007 and had done extensive chassis repairs ,also fitted a v six motor with five speed gearbox ,quick shift /and limeted slip diff\ the body as been completely stripped of paint ready for painting ,so its an on going restoration ,a labour of love,I used to own a Tuscan in the 80s and always regretted parting with it, so your car survives ,

Well after a year or so it seems I have drifted back to the post and seen the replies.
Thank you do much for the input.
I did see it advertised recently via Old British cars Facebook page.
Hope it is still in progress!

As I wanted due to house decorateing and classic motor bike shows but now retired so next year will make a real effort to crack on and get it on the road while I'm still young enough to enjoy it ,have had two offers offers to buy it but it took me long enough to get it so decided to keep it , I do still require bumpers ?I know hard to get, as anyone out there got any they want to part with ,that's it for now , regards to all will keep update on restoration keith

Thanks for contact again..
I do wish you well on the project. .
I have more or less retired also.
I did a search on the bumpers via ebay and the guy sold them seperate..
Cannot blame him they made over £600!!
I have a Facebook site called "Llewellyn Imp Motorsport ".If you get stuck for somewhere to store it I can oblige.
Located inbetween Derby and Uttoxeter

Twigged that my colleague in the unit next door is a metslsmith and making those bumpers would be a fiddle for him..Only problem is a pair of bumpers would be needed as a former..Or perhaps a bumper.
