can't help other than to say your weekends should be great. i had a week in indonesia last week on business and internal flights [i.e. KL > jakarta] were no more than $50

Hi when you coming, we know have 4 piston heads living in KL. As I always say KL is not a great tourist city, it is however a great city to live in. OK there are the Girly bars, Rum Jungle, and Beach Club, the Hard rock and Soouk are the night clubs, There are loads of good pubs, if you are in the city center Chankit Bukit Bingtag is full of pubs, and good places to eat. Weekend is of 18th Sept is the Medeka Mellenium Race at Sepang (see the web site Sepanf F1 ) I am running two cars in the support race and with my mates two cars we will have loads of pit passes if you want to come (16th to 18th, 16th is a holiday you will not be able t work), the 1st weekend of Oct is the Malaysian Super Series and again we will be running in that.
Have alook opn the Asia forum we have a few threads on there on places to eat etc.

Theres a reggae bar in chinatown where you get a lot of backpackers. They do pretty decent food and there are usually people there on a night just watching tv, shooting pool and drinking. Nice and chilled place to relax in.

KL tower is pretty cool, as is the Petronas towers and the shopping park underneath. If you go to the KL then do the rainforest walk, its not extra special, but its free and when I went I was the only person going, so you go a really personal guide, from a person who knew his stuff inside out. Very friendly man.

I freaking loved this city!!

We stayed in http://www.kl-hotels.com/anggun-kuala-lumpur/ it had just opened and was fantastic, the staff were great, the food was great, and it was close enough to walk pretty much anywhere.

We went to the the Avian centre in the park which for an afternoon was pretty cool, loads of odd looking birds!

There is an amazing whiskey bar if you like whiskey... http://www.thewhiskybarkl.com/

Shopping is pretty epic and... well the people... we loved the people, everyone was kind and helpful. I would love to go back there.

Have an amazing time!

You can't get a hotel in Sing for the GP and remember it is a night race very difficult to get back to KL for work on Monday especially with the new entry requirments and the long line to get it waiting for the bio metric finger scan.
