Fault Codes

Finally got around to running a fault code reader on my S3C.

With the engine off test I'm getting code 5 reported which is "start of engine running test".

Is this normal? First experience of such high tech things!

It's not reporting any other faults just this one twice - which I presume is the stored and current code.

AFAIK any fault code is always a 2 digit number, engine running test (ERT) surely just means just what it says ie run the engine etc, or am I just being thick ?

Hi Tony,

You're probably right. Instructions suggest that if there are no faults it should give code 11.

Don't get that just the code 5. Maybe the FCR is just impatient to hear that V6 noise

I'm probably being dim but just wanted to be illuminated by the S masses!
