When to buy in heavy in the FTSE trackers?
Discussion
Watching CNN it appears some investors are getting back in to average down their bought prices.
They do this so when they cone to sell they do not need the share price to rise over the original purchase price so they can sell at under the bought price and still make money.
Anyone getting in deep yet or holding our for a touch longer

I would have thought there is more of a fall to come, the EU hasn't sorted out its debt problems yet and America is still in the mire with lots of talk of recession to come (or continue).
Do you really want a tracker? How about a fund that provides a good level of income?
Generally I buy individual stocks but of late I have bought funds I just feel there are huge upsides to come from a low FTSE average and also to spread my investments. Do you really want a tracker? How about a fund that provides a good level of income?
What fund would you advise if I chose to scrap the tracker option

If you believe they already represent value why not buy today? You have little chance of buying at the bottom. greygoose said:
I am not an IFA so couldn't advise you, big companies paying good dividends (Vodafone, oil companies, Tesco, tobacco etc) would seem a safe bet in my eyes, particularly in an uncertain world.
But they are not funds they are individual stocks I'm throttling back from those for now. I know biggest chance of highest return but also biggest risk tooGassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
