Work have provided me an opportunity to go to Katowice on Sunday returning tuesday. The downside is that I am flying on hols on Weds so do not want to risk missing any flight home (or having it cancelled). I can fly out of Luton on Sunday with WizzAir but nervous of their "record" so thinking Ryan back to Stansted on Tuesday might be more reliable.

If you have the choice just do it, I've flown plenty with Ryan and despite the slagging they get I've never had a late or delayed flight with them. Know nothing about Wizz but with a quick search I can see your concern biggrin

Have flown several times with them (Wizz) to Eastern Europe and consider them amongst the best of the low cost carriers.

Book their speedy pass thing though - fighting for a seat with a bunch of hefty, hairy Eastern Europeans isn't fun. The blokes are OK though.

SB, as the previous poster pointed out their reputation appears somewhat damaged looking at stories on the internet. That not your experience then?

From WizzAir wikipedia entry

Available statistics show that just 74% flights were on time, with 26% arriving late or being cancelled. Specifically, 8% were classed as being 'late', 3% 'very late', 9% 'excessively late', and 2% cancelled completely.[17]

I have flown with Wizz many times to Eastern Europe and like mentioned above, I would always choose them over Ryanair or Easyjet. If nothing else you dont tend to get the hard sell and that everything is just designed to extract money from you like with Ryanair.

I've never had a problem with their timekeeping, no worse or no better than any other airline. Most of the delays seem to be caused by Luton Airport rather than the airline in that every flight seems to land and take off at the same time so you end up queing on the taxiways waiting to get a space on the runway, so if this happens then it doesnt matter whether it is Wizz or Ryanair you are all in the same queue.
Luton is crap for passport control on the way back though, has been massive queues and can take an hour to get through so the odd ten minutes here or there on the flight time is nothing when the whole "door to door" times are considered.

I take Wizz regularly to Katowice, Warsaw and Gdansk. Only once had a proplem due to snow. Like all low cost carriers - when it goes wrong it can be very bad. Book the extra leg room seats though - the best £4 you will spend!
