Running across the USA for Charity
Discussion
Heard about this guy on the radio this morning.... he's running across the USA in 100 days. Currently on day 94, he's having to average 31 miles per day, often much more....

Amazing feat (!) of endurance and determination.
Worth as much publicity as can be given, sadly, not heard anything on the mainstream media.

Charitable instincts are to be applauded. But when I see this sort of thing I can't help wondering whether the whole 'exercise' is going to net enough to cover all the expenses and, of course, the opportunity cost. Someimes it seems to me that spending the same amount of time, effort and money working directly for the charity would produce more benefit for the charity. Might not be so much fun, though, or get so much attention.
