Griff LS3 Project 'Its In'
Discussion
As some can most probably tell from my earlier post i'm not sure if i'm comeing or going at the moment, maybe its the stress of being at the end of a one year house build, could be the total destruction of both the house and car budgets, maybe its living back at my mothers with my pregnant wife, daughter and three dogs or it could just be i've been without the Griff since December and am suffering from extreme TVR withdrawal, who knows!
I do know i had the biggest grin on my face when i saw the griff today with the new lump in for the first time, its by no means finished but really starting to come together, it's not running yet and was just wheeled out for the photo with pipes etc just placed in situ but you get the idea.
A big thanks to all the Topcats Team for pursuing excellance!!
Its of to Blackpool for a re-trim next and hopefully all finished for Spa in October!
Keep telling myself you only live once, not sure its working
Just spent the last half hour trying to up load the images i took on a friends i phone today with no joy ? I downloaded them onto my PC ok but every time i try and up load it just give the message no image available any ideas??
Earlier post from Griff forum but i've managed to get photo up now!!
Christian,
Thank the lord you have posted a pic - I have some on my phone from my last couple of visits there and have wanted to show them. Every part of the conversion is A1 and a total class act. You should be so very very happy with it and that is just from looking and not even driving.
Paul.....

Looks great Christian and it great to see another LS Griff on the road.
just noticed no exhaust hope all goes well
All the very best mate.
Exhaust is in apart from the back boxes, but instead of running the headers forward they drop straight down next to the chassis, they have also been camcoated inside and out in black so there not much to see!just noticed no exhaust hope all goes well
All the very best mate.

Talking of small world.
I just bought Pauls old engine off Peter.
I was just looking at the pictures!, got to give it to guys like you and Peter just for getting stuck in, unfortunately i don't have the skill, patience, time or enough hair left to pull out! to attempt my own conversion. So good luck with the build and hats of to the DIY boys I just bought Pauls old engine off Peter.

Did you fab your own manifolds, or find something that fits?
What gearbox, final drive ratio, cammed or stock!!??
Spoke to many people on the manifold front and had dreams of one off's made of Inkernel[think thats how its spelt]in the real world of mortgages ended up with Brian at Topcats making a set himself with a slimmer laser cut mounting plate to increase the gap to the Top chassis rail, which is also covered in the gold heat tape to help reduce temps. Gearbox is a TKO600 with Topcats gearlinkage, the diff is out of a Cerb with a cone fitted for a bit of drift, going to gear the car for the track as top end runs in a griff without an Aero package with that much power might get interesting! What gearbox, final drive ratio, cammed or stock!!??
I have been talking to Mike at Swartz performance regards cams etc but think i'll concentrate on getting the car set up before i try and squeeze more power out the engine, i love the track so my first priority is getting all the extra power down!Due you have a problem with tyres spinning?

Most recent problems are snapping driveshafts with every tank of fuel!I have been talking to Mike at Swartz performance regards cams etc but think i'll concentrate on getting the car set up before i try and squeeze more power out the engine, i love the track so my first priority is getting all the extra power down!Due you have a problem with tyres spinning?
But yes, it spins up too, i assume you went with the close ratio TKO, and not the one with the mega 5th gear?
If you have a standard Cerb diff then it will be 3.45.

I've upgraded the drive shafts to give a bit more flex, but i'm not running the same sort of numbers as you, so hopefully not to many drive shafts although sticky tyres a lead foot and spinning of track, might not be a great combination! But yes, it spins up too, i assume you went with the close ratio TKO, and not the one with the mega 5th gear?

Would be great to see your car in the flesh, do you do any meets?
Seems you also have good taste in bikes, i run an 09 GSX-R 1000 with a few mods just about touches 190 only thing that makes the Tiv feel tame lol

Hi Paul, it has the same shafts that I have fitted on mine - GKN Racing, Gun Barrel drive shafts. Topcats run them on all of their race cars and they have never snapped one of them. A great upgrade but it takes 6-8 weeks for them to be made. But yes, it spins up too, i assume you went with the close ratio TKO, and not the one with the mega 5th gear?

Pictures do not give this conversion justice - it is like a new car, I am jealous.
