August 2011 Photography Competition- Shutter Speed

Discussion thread, the theme for this month is shutter speed.

I'm interested in where this is a key element of the photograph as chosen by the 'tog.

If you shoot Av all the time! Panning shots, slow water/waterfall, motorsports shots, long exposure seascapes , whatever is in I guess!

I shoot AV 99% of the time, but am trying to think somewhat out of the box.

Something different to a ND10/welding Glass or Goodwood/F1 type shot.

Odd though the times I shift to manual (most likely because any auto mode isnt appropriate) I tend to get great pics...

Av = aperture priority, you control the aperture, the camera meters and controls the shutter speed.

I think this could be another tough one to judge, Rob! All photographers should have a shot in which shutter speed has been the key setting. Good luck

Edit: some of mine from last week when the shutter speed was curtail to get the desired effect…
