I'd just like to say thanks to the aforementioned idiot - who nearly wiped me out when I was turning right today in Knaphill.

Mainly because I assume that if he HADN'T passed me on the right (on the wrong side of the road, coming from behind me) he would probably have wiped me out.

I'd checked behind, and he was miles back, so signalled and pulled out into the middle of the road about 200 yards before my turn - in order to occupy the area needed to make the turn - doing about 20 mph.
Nothing passed me on the nearside, and there was nothing coming head on towards me.

I was just about to make the right turn, across the oncoming lane, when I caught something out of the corner of my eye and straightened up again.
Cue the twice aformentioned censoreding idiot coming past me on the RIGHT in the wrong lane!!!!!!!!

I assume that he "didn't see me" in the middle of the road and was drifting from his/our lane across the road.

He sailed off up the road on the wrong side for a good few yards before regaining his lane and pissing of at high speed.
No number plate noted and no-one else around - grrrr!!!!!

So thanks for missing me - and watch where you're censoreding going next time!!

rolleyes Similar thing happened to me when turning right into Barracks entrance in Wimbish, Essex. Did all the usual safety checks in preparation to make the turn, all fine right up to the point where I'm just about to make the turn, just about to stop the arm signal to control the bike during the turn, when a cretinous woman driving a faded red Micra passes me on the right at about 60mph (road is 40mph limit) leaning on the horn, and as she passes I can see (through the rear window) her left arm outstretched and wildly indicating what I can only presume is her belief that I should be fully to the left. This is a really quiet rural road through a small village, she's at least 50% over the posted speed limit and driving like a loon. My approach to the turn is at about 17mph, and when I've carried out my observations to the rear she was not visible on the (quite considerable) portion of the carriageway which I can see before the first bend. All I can say is that I wish I new what goes on in the heads of these idiots that they:

A) have to drive quite as badly as they do

and

B) then blame everyone else when they fcensoredk it up

I've a newly discovered phrase for eejits like this. I was recently lambasted for having the audacity to move from cycle lane at the left of the carriageway into a central cycle lane used for heading straight on rather than turning left. The only car around was about 200 yards behind me, but they still felt the need to a) lean on the horn for those 200 yards, and b) start remonstrating when the car eventually pulled up at the side of me in the left-hand lane. I motioned for her to wind the window down, and as she did I just said, "button it, Fatty!"
She burst into tears and I laughed pretty much the whole way home.
