10" Tarmac Tyre Choice?

Anyone any experience with the following 165/70/10 tyres? Dunlop D93 and Avon CR6ZZ? Ive been told that on a circuit the Avons are the quickest and seem to be favoured by the serious 'road going' catagory hillclimbers, but cost as much as dunlop slicks! I want a road legal tyre which is going to give the best results on a hillclimb but maybe i ought to get another set of wheels with slicks for the track. Are yoko A032s worth the extra cost over A008s?

I have tested a lot of race tyres in hillclimbs, but not in minis.

For me Avon ones are the best if the weigth of your mini is about 650Kg , but if your car is hevier then I would choose Yokohama ones (I supose there are not Michelin for 10" wheels)

The basic difference between Avon and Yocohama is the sidewalls the Avon ones are softer than Yoco ones.

We use Avon tyres in a Martini F3 but a friend have used our tyres in a R5 Turbo2 and he prefers Michelin Tyres.

for out and out grip i'd say that the A032 on a nice dry piece of tarmac would be far better than the A008, however put a bit of moisture in and the A008 can easily have better grip in my view, and if you want to use the car on the road then i'd probably say the A008 as they will last far longer than the A032's

A008 for road, A032 for track (dry).

I've only driven A008s, but on contact patch and compound alone the A032 looks the better bet for track use.

I thought A032s were ok in the wet, hence aqua tusk name.

Can't fault A008's, as long as it's dry. I had some Dunlops on mine once, can't remember what they were but they were good all rounders.
