I don’t know how many of the Glasgow PH regulars are F1 fans and have been noting the news … as of next season the BBC are only showing half the races in full. The rest will be on Sky Sports.

We don’t have Sky and don’t intend to get it. Still want to see the F1 though.

Just a quick thought: The Blythswood Hotel, where we meet up most months already, have a private screening room. I’m betting they have a Sky feed too. Could be worth bearing in mind when the time comes?

Rubbish news. Im another that does not have Sky.

That would be a strange experience thats for sure. Iv went out to watch football and rugby games but never an F1 race. Can you imagine a geekier group of fans haha.....ps if I was in Glasgow I would be up for this...

Yes seriously p#####d off

No SKY, no need or desire to have it and dont wish to pay the small fortune I'll need to pay just to see the GP's BBC dont show

Interesting that according to Autosport teams were a bit surprised and concerned about loss of free to air TV coverage

Of course, I could be persuaded to watch F1 in nice surroundings with a pint of that nice Heifeweissen, of a Sunday afternoon. drink

Parking is free on Sundays, so it could be bi-weekly PH mini-meets!

I reckon it’s worth raising with the hotel nearer the time and seeing whether they’re up for it. They have a flat fee for renting the screening room, which may well be worth coughing up if there’s enough of us to split the cost. Nobody else is likely to be booking it on Sunday afternoons.

I would be well up for this.

Gutted to say the least. I'm not paying £30 a month or whatever it is for a few races a month. In fact - I'm not paying period! Sky has raped football, It's now humping F1. Wonder how long it'll be until they start dictating the times.

Sitting with like minded individuals in a nice environment would be right up myself and the other halfs street.

This is an attrocious idea. Let me explain why...........

Imagine a room filled with diverse people, supporting different teams and for example a beautiful Red Car was hard done to by stewards or a dull chromey grey car was doing well in the race. The resultant expletives / furniture hurling / etc. would make "The Dakota Incident" seem like a Holyrood Garden Party. wink

My cousin says the most entertaining Grand Prix he's ever seen was at our house. The racing was pish but the histrionics of my son and daughter was sheer brilliance!!!

I, of course, was a paragon of neutrality

If this was SPL related, I'd agree and would be the last to turn up through fear of becoming hated around the PH Scotland massive angel

However, F1 fans are a different breed and I doubt there would be any problems with split allegiances beer

Generally Celtic and Rangers fans do get on, and I'd say most who would watch F1 would be of an intelligence level to be able to interact with others without the threat of violence.

Most places in Glasgow don't allow people in with football colours anyway.
