Following on from the Jensen SV8 thread, there are a few other Brit cars that appeared at various motor shows but haven't made production yet.

Trident Iceni
Ascari (KZ1, I think it was called)
Lea Francis


Anyone know the latest on these?

Big feature in Cars and Car Conversions May edition about the Trident Iceni. They had the prototype up against a Boxster S. I seem to recall they liked it alot.

Glad to hear at least 2 are still on track. Obviously the BMW M5 V8 was a little underpowered for Ascari!

Saw the developement Trident at a local motorshow last summer. Had no idea what it was, but it looked well special. Had to go have a nose. Bit disappointed later on to find it's a bit under powered IMHO.

Saw the Trident Iceni demo at the Dartford Bridge about a month ago, it's a stunning looking car, a bit like a speed 12 from the front and it sounded lovely. The driver (the owner of Trident said some have been delivered and it was going reasonably well.

Whatever happened to the Dare DZ? I fell in love with that car at the 1998 Motor Show and if I'd had the money I'd have probably bought it.

Once I did have the money, I decided that it was very pricey for what it was and bought a Chimaera instead.

Still think its a bit special though.

Focus RS is on it's way soon IIRC! They did a piece about it in Evo or TG a couple of months back! Don't think anyones got there hands on it yet though!

The Focus Cosworth has been postponed because a new Focus is due out in the next 12 months and Cosworth will release a version of that one instead!!!

The Focus bit was a joke... I'm currently employed by the Blue Oval and I've mistakenly put a running office joke on an external site...

All I can say is "what Focus RS?"
