And we wonder why bikers are dying?!
Discussion
Ive just been out in the car, and coming over the crest of a hill, i saw something glinting on my side of the road - I couldnt quite see what it was. I slowed down just in case, and it turned out to be a couple of bikers on 'easy rider' style bikes. The glinting i saw was the sun bouncing off of the chrome fork legs. They were both overtaking a truck, just before the brow of a hill. Now had i not been very aware of bikers being in abundance, theres no way id have seen them properly - they just werent visible, it really shocked me how hard they were to spot. Their lights were off and they were wearing black, which against the green hedges just didnt show up. They were riding as part of a larger pack, mostly easy riders, a few streetfighters and the odd sportsbike. They were all hopping past cars, regardless of oncoming traffic and had i not slowed right down and got over to the left, id have mowed at least two of them down.
Far too many mindless idiots on two wheels. Plenty of people out enjoying the sunshine and riding fast but responsibly too, but far far too many numpties trying to kill themselves.

Good grief!! They were on cruisers, man....it's your responsibility to![]()
that's a joke, btw, we're all kin, of course.
If they were on cruisers should should have been able to smell them from about a mile

Mate goons are everywhere, last night Odiham, huge police presence, bikes every where & loads of people milling about, yet people pulling big speeed through the village- why exactly??
2 guys pulled out from the pub where we were all chatting, gunned it- front wheel skipping the deck & promptly missed a van that did a right turn in front of him by literally inches... nice 'eh almost embedded himself into the side of the van 100ft from the pub, could have been game over at that speed too... very smooth...
Same goon factor applies to those who really gun it into the carparks at bike meets when there are loads of people milling about- almost got kocked down myself at Alton a week or so ago, silly co*k, somehow restained myself from planting my shoei lid in the side of his bonce when he got off... think the restaint would have gone if he had of knocked me tho...
Natural selection mate if they are that stupid they deserve to die really... shame some one innocent will probably go with them tho.

Reminds me of something i saw on Monday - waiting in the queue for the cinema, they were REALLY busy - queued out the door, along the road into the busstop. First we saw a Cruiser come blasting past, full whack out of the junction - easily 50/60mph (bearing in mind this is a 20mph city centre). He was followed quite closely by what looked like a FireBlade-shaped blur, accelerating hard, with the front wheel proper high in the air - bloody impressive to see, but damn stupid - had someone stepped off the pavement, theres no way he could have slowed down or avoided them, they wouldnt have stood a chance.
Riding fast/doing stunts is brilliant fun, but theres a time and a place!!

Some idiot did this at the Bassets Pole meet near Lichfield a couple of weeks ago and ended up killing a mother of two spectator. Totally unnecessary!

If you want to see mad you should try watching the bikers on the Paris Ring Road during the rush hour.
They have their own invisible lane about 3 foot wide between the middle lane and the fast lane and even when the cars are stopped they are travelling at 150 mph.
I spent a week with work and a picasso hire car!
Fecking mad the french !!!
Me I gave up biking whilst mid air in 1988. My RD30LC was wrapping itself round a lamp post and I made a pact with GOD. Amazingly the Lorry missed me, which I put down to the Pact.

I'll have a look for them! You weren't terribly good at wheelies back then though mate, so the wheel isnt that far in the air. That said, your Hornet was of similar dimensions to my Bandit and theres no way ill be trying to wheelie that (well, not for a while!). Its a completely different kettle of fish to wheelieing a supermoto/trail bike (ive got a trail bike too - mucho wheelie fun
)

that's a joke by the way, honest!
There are some nobs about near the Milk Bar in Sherburn in Elmet...
I got overtaken into by a bike the other night. Wrote off my car, and his bike was wasted.
I was lucky to get out of my car with bruises and whiplash...
The rider got promptly picked up by an ambulance and had a few minor injuries to his wrist and arm... lucky bugger if you ask me!
I just don't get why they had to overtake into oncoming cars (a young woman with kids in the car had to swerve, but the biker lost control and skid into me...
There are just some idiots out there, and they make bikers in general get a bad reputation. I just don't know what to think anymore when I see a bike straddling the white line in "overtaking" pose behind a vehicle coming the other way...
Before I'd read it as waiting to get past, now I'll worry if they are daft enough to try another 70mph manouvre into my car, just to keep up with their mates!
Hmmmmm
