having refitted the alternator (rebuilt) and battery, #9 fuse has started blowing a day later. As well as the gauges the main beams are out on the same circuit.

Might have I disturbed something in the engine bay relating to this? Scary how cooked parts of the loom is back there !

First thing I'd check is the wiring to the reverse light switch - if the power side shorts to ground, fuse #9 will blow. Second thing would be the alternator wiring - check the black and blue wires to make sure they're not shorted to ground.

Top Man - I think the reverse light has been out since I refitted the alternator so will take a look when im back.
