still wont start

my battery light is working as normall (comes on at start up, goes out at about 2000 revs) my volt guage reads between 11 and 13 depending on load and with an external volt meater the battery reads 12 volts however my car now only starts useing jump leads any advice would be great.

I'd suggest getting a load test done on battery, might have 12 volts but no "umph" to put it technically !

Is that with the engine running, or stopped? 12V with the engine off is about right, but with the engine running you should see around 13.5V. If it stays at 12V with the engine running, it isn't being charged.

I would also check the starter wiring and earths mine had similar symptoms had to replace wiring and it's now ok.
