Loving the Lexus
It's bland and uninspiring but other sportscar manufacturers should take note
Discussion
MMmm, dont agree I am afraid. Ok, so the Lexus is well built and the switches make nice clicks - but it aint going to be for everyone and I doubt that people on PH here would be that interested....
I mean, even the 911 has gained some criticsm recently for being more GT rather than sports car (not that this stops it from being a good car). If you want build quality on the interior buy an Audi (which is excellent by the way and easily better than a BMW). But an Audi isnt that much fun to drive - as compared with a BMW for example. I doubt that owners of a Lexus are looking for anything other than exclusivity and and a something different that the usual Merc / Jag convertible....
Future of sports cars? No not really. Goes down a storm in the US, which is lets face it, its core market - will the UK love it? Unlikely. Will it sell out? Yes, cos they are only bringing in a few so of course it will outsell supply.... but thats the marketing game....
Looks crap too.....
Cheers,
Paul

When you think about all the things you can get for £54k, this one is unlikely to make the upper half of the list. Funny no mention is made of the stereo, which apparently is top-notch and costs several grands on its own...
In honesty if I had to buy a Japanese car I would probably get an MR2 and spend the rest of the money (still plenty) on something really nice...
Anyway who am I to comment, I am not in the target as I can afford it!

whoa, whoa.... back up the train.....hideous? c'mon....a sentra SE-R is hideous, a daewoo nubira is hideous... the bold sharp shapes hanging off the new ferrari FX could even be hideous.... but are you kidding me? a long, wide smooth sportster with a flowing beltline and an arcing roof? allusions to audi TT and mercedes SL? this is definitely an aesthetically pleasing auto. if you don't like it, fine, but don't go shouting around "ugly!" b/c this isn't it. I bet guys like you say ugly about the victoria's secret model that has the least of your spooge on her picture in the catalog.... styling is what sells the SC. If it was just about the parts underneath, they'd just be buying LS's.
